LEJOG Day 11 – Fort Augustus to Golspie

It was back to the core crew of DC, Rodge and Martyn today, supported by Gary in the van. Leaving Fort Augustus early doors as always it was a magical ride in the early morning sun up the banks of Loch Ness for 20 miles. Rather than travel all the way to JoG on the A9 we decided to take the A831 to Beauly. In hindsight perhaps a questionable move as we were quickly faced with the toughest climb of our journey. It was 4 plus miles of brutally tough inclines.

Suitably knackered, we stopped in Beauly for superb coffee and cake and then it was off to complete our 80 plus miles and to get in position for the final assault to the summit on Friday. We settled into Golspie by 4.30pm and spent the next 2 hours trying to find anywhere that might serve us food! Chippy it was.

Todays stats
